Infant Massage Training Process

When you register:

You will received the following two emails.  If you do not receive them within 5 minutes of registering, please check your junk folder. 

1. Receipt
2. Confirmation with instructions for accessing your course online.

Items you will need to purchase:
Infant Massage.  A Handbook for Loving Parents (book or ebook)
Baby Massage for Dummies (book or ebook)
A teaching doll.  (19-21 inches, soft body, hard hands and feet, moveable head)
Oil and bottles for your practicum classes

Step One: Theory

1. Infant Massage: a Handbook for Loving Parents.  Short answer assignment online. 

2. Baby Massage for Dummies.  Short answer assignment online. 

3. Infant Massage Instructor Training Manual.  Multiple choice assignment online. 

4. Handouts.  Two handouts submitted online.

5. Class Planning.  4 class plans submitted online.

Step Two: Observation

Our class observation can be done in-person at one of our scheduled Infant Massage workshops in Vancouver.  Click here for our schedule. If you cannot attend a workshop in Vancouver, please email instructortraning@fit4two.ca to set up a time to complete this process via Skype.

Step Three: Practicum
Students arrange a series of 4 practicum classes with a minimum of 4 volunteer families in their community.  Families will be asked to fill out an instructor evaluation form.

In-Class

Our in-class version of our Infant Massage Instructor's course takes place over two eight-hour days.  Students are expected to read Infant Massage - A Handbook for Loving Parents by Vimala Mcclure before the in-class course and complete a short answer assignment online. Following the 2 day in-class course, students will organize a practicum with families in their community.

Day Two
Infant Massage strokes and movements review
Incorporating songs and chants
Class and session planning
Marketing your program

Practicum
Students arrange a series of 4 practicum classes with a minimum of 4 volunteer families in their community.  They will submit their class plans to the instructor at least 5 business days before their practicum is set to begin. Families will be asked to fill out an instructor evaluation form. The practicum must be completed within three months of the course.
