Welcome Carey Yuen to our team!

After more than 20 years in the retail industry, Carey was ready to pursue something different. Combining her love of helping people with her passion for health and fitness, she became a Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer. Carey joined Fit 4 Two® as an instructor at the end of 2017, a role that felt like the perfect fit. 
 
Being a mom herself, Carey has a 2-year-old, Ellie, who has changed her world… and is a key motivator in her change of career. She is a former Fit 4 Two® participant, so she is completely aware of the benefits Fit 4 Two® provides for moms, babies, and moms-to-be, both within and outside of the class. 
 
When Carey isn’t planning, instructing or attending classes, she loves to be outdoors with her family. Running, snowshoeing, paddling, or playing at the park with her yellow lab, Charlie, are just a few of the places you might find her. 
 
Carey holds the following certifications:
 
• Group Fitness Instructor (BCRPA)
• Pre and Postnatal Fitness Specialist (Fit 4 Two®)
• First Aid and CPR
 
Carey is excited to experience the fitness journey with her participants, whether they are moms or moms-to-be.

My prenatal classes with Pilar were fun, active and challenging - it was more than I expected. I met other moms-to-be and started looking forward to my classes each week. Callie is entertaining, full of facts and is very inspiring.

While I knew staying active during my pregnancy would benefit me physically and mentally, I underestimated what it would do for me postnatally. Even though I had a great labour with only minor “fixing up”, I truly thanked those lunges when I needed to get myself out of bed and use my leg muscles. I was grateful for the Kegels when my pelvic floor healed very quickly, and for those arm exercises now that my baby is eating and gaining weight!  I can’t wait to start the mom and baby classes!
